The Voice of the Martyrs, - Persecuted pastor: "We are not special people."

Pastor Joe
If I spend my life escaping the challenges …
“Pastor Joe” has been ministering in North Africa for years. He’s seen Muslims come to faith in Christ and then seen them persecuted by their own families. He’s seen new believers afraid to tell their own spouse that they are now following Jesus Christ. But amid the pressure and persecution faced by Christian converts from Islam, the pastor has also seen a growing hunger for the gospel and the peace it offers them.

“We are not special people,” Pastor Joe says. “We are afraid. We are exposed many times. We start the day, but we don’t know how the day will end.”

Despite the danger, he faithfully continues his ministry work. “If, as a Christian,” he says, “I spend all my life escaping the challenges, escaping the danger, I may end up not doing what God is calling me to do.”

Join us for this VOM Radio conversation with Pastor Joe. It will inspire your own witness and help you pray more specifically for Christians, including new converts, across North Africa.
