Her Home was No Longer Safe | ||||
As you celebrate Christ’s birth this Christmas, you can show your care for our persecuted brothers and sisters, like Rahila, and help provide for their unique needs. After Rahila’s brother-in-law killed her husband for becoming a Christian, Rahila knew she had to flee Nigeria — before her brother-in-law could attack her and her children. Rahila happened to meet a Christian businesswoman from Niger who was in Nigeria on business. When she told the woman her story, the woman paid for a taxi to take Rahila and her children back to Niger, where Rahila had once lived. Rahila and her children were able to move in with her father. While she received help from neighbors and her local church family, she still had other unmet expenses. Front-line workers stepped in to help Rahila with living expenses and her children’s school fees. They also helped her enter vocational training so she’ll eventually be able to support her family on her own. “It is really by the grace of God,” Rahila said of the support she received. Today, Rahila continues to share her love for God’s Word with her children. “People should keep on praying for the faith of these children and myself,” she said, “so that we can keep on growing in the faith.” This Christmas, you can help care for Christians driven from their homes like Rahila. Many members of our persecuted Christian family have been driven from their homes because of their faith in Christ. Help let them know they are not forgotten by the global body of Christ.

Since Jesus calls Christians to make disciples of all nations, in this blog we'll consider how we might better share the gospel to the world around us.
